Introduction

This accredited 1 day Natural Running Award Coaching Certificate will allow you to analyse a clients running and coach a more natural running technique. Through this module you will confidently coach progressive change in your client towards a more efficient running style.

This course is internationally accepted and recognised by REPs & CIMSPA.

What Is The Module About?

  • Running technique and injury
  • Diagnostic tool for assessing running technique
  • 8 Drills to create effective change in clients
  • Exercise and release techniques to enhance stability through the kinetic chain whilst running

How Long Does It Last?

  • One day practical

Who Is The Course Suitable For?

  • Individuals 16 years and over
  • Fitness instructors and personal trainers
  • Those wishing to go beyond the boundaries of the conventional gym and studio

What Qualifications Are Needed?

  • Level 2 Certificate In Fitness Instructing – Gym-Based Exercise or Exercise To Music (other similar qualifications may be recognised)

What Will Be Studied?

  • Specific client needs
  • Analysis of current running technique using the unique diagnostic tool
  • Identification of the need for change using the analysis tool
  • Specific drills to effect change in running gait for more effective running
  • The science of natural running
  • Anatomy of running forefoot, mid or heel strike
  • Functional exercises for strengthening the running anatomy
  • Coaching assessment of the 8 drills to initiate client change in running technique
  • Functional foam rolling and flexibility for runners

How Is It Assessed?

  • Direct observation of analysis of a client and coaching of the 8 drills

Are There Any Books Or Special Equipment That Needs To Be Purchased?

  • Suitable clothing for training outdoors
  • Small backpack or bum-bag containing a water bottle; energy bar; light waterproof jacket, trousers, hat, gloves; and sun cream
  • Spare shoes and clothing

What Can The Qualification Lead To?

  • A greater choice in working locations
  • Enhanced services as a personal trainer
  • Coaching running through leading runs
