This month we welcome James Parkinson. After spending 5 years as a serving member in the Parachute Regiment of the British army, James decided to take a bit of time off and do a little travelling. Upon arriving back home, his next venture brought him to Drummond Education – and to James’s first love –  fitness!

Since beginning his initial course with us in February, James has completed Level 2 Gym, Kettlebells & Circuits – and is well on his way to completing his full Personal Training award (and he’s done all this in just under 3 months!) To quote James, he’s “smashed it out”! Now he’s putting all these new qualifications to use and has just recently joined the The Marlow Club in Buckinghamshire as Gym Instructor.

So what’s next?

James plans to keep going with his health & fitness education and aims to qualify in physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation. And, in keeping with his entrepreneurial spirit, he’d like to one day set up his own “British Military-Style fitness course.

His advice to students out there: “if you’re finding your course a bit difficult, try to stick with it. Once you get to the exam, it will all come together. Just keep focusing on the end goal!”

What drives him on? His motto says it all: “good just isn’t good enough – strive for excellence”
