Do any of your clients or class members find going to the gym daunting? How about starting them with one piece of equipment at a time. Let’s begin this week with Medicine balls. And here’s an easy-to follow workout you can share with them:
The Workout
40 sec each exercise. 3 sets. CV of your choice between each set.
- Press-ups with hands balancing on medicine ball
- Figure of 8s: standing gripping med ball with both hands, draw a sideways figure of 8
- A-frame lunge (left): hold a lunge as you take ball down to side, up overhead and then down to other side
- A-frame lunge (right)
- Single leg V-abs (left): lying on your back with ball in both hands, lift one leg as you reach the ball towards your toes into a crunch position
- Single leg V-abs (right)
- Oblique drops: lying with ball between knees, feet off the floor, alternately drop knees to either side
- Reverse curls: lying with ball between knees, bring knees to chin as you lift buttocks off the floor
- Wide squat pulses: hold ball in hands and pulse up and down in wide squat position
