Fitness Instructing Children’s Fitness & Pilates

Fitness Instructing Children’s Fitness & Pilates

Introduction

This Children’s Fitness course with professional recognition from Active IQ, is for teachers of children’s fitness. It is a fully online programme with full online lessons and downloadable resources. You can study this course at home in your own time. You can take this course as an additional course if you already hold a level 2 fitness instructor certificate, or you can take this as a combined course with your Level 2 Fitness Instructor Gym , L2 Group Training Certificate Circuits & HiiT, or your L2 Group Training Certificate ETM. If you are already a fitness instructor qualification at level 2 or 3 this  course is generally sufficient for your insurance to teach children aged 5-16 in the disciplines that you hold as full qualifications so you do not need to resit the level 2 fitness instructor as you already hold it or equivalent.  There are 10 lectures and videos on the online course which teaches you everything you need to know to develop children’s fitness sessions for both general fitness and Pilates styled classes.  Once registered  you will have access to a downloadable online resources and lesson plans to study the development of children from ages 5 – 16 years old. You will learn how to relate fitness to each developmental stage through the national curriculum. You will then be able to offer children’s fitness sessions to schools, after school clubs, children’s centres and any facility that offers children’s fitness in conjunction with your fitness qualifications.

You also have the option of adding a practical assessment with this course to achieve the Level 2 Award in Instructing Physical Activity for Children by Active IQ. To achieve this additional certification you will need to teach a class of children with a minimum of 5 participants and submit a video of teaching a class.

Through this programme you will receive a toolbox of lesson plans for children’s fitness sessions.

As a CPD course you must already hold a fitness instructor qualification such as gym, ETM, Pilates, Yoga, PT  Aqua, or equivalent. If not you can take the Children’s Fitness & Pilates Course (AIQ professional recognition) and or the Level 2 Award in Instructing Physical Activity for Children (AIQ) as a combined course with your level 2 fitness instructor as described above.

This course is internationally accepted and recognised by  CIMSPA. and Active IQ
